Asticou sunset.
i was on a training course today in Gatineau, boning up on my information management (so far i’m more or less just reassured that i pretty much know my stuff when it comes to IM, so i’m enjoying it).
but of course, at the end of the day i ran out the doors to see the bus pulling away. i called STO and the next one didn’t come for forty minutes. GAH! i started to walk to the main road off the campus, to catch another bus. the sunset was beautiful so i had to turn around and snap a pic of it.
i turned back around, and there was a friend’s awesome step-mom in an SUV! i got a ride most of the way home, instead of having to wait forever for the bus! yay!
and just look at this photo! is it not breathtaking? i love the ottawa/gatineau region.
beautiful friday morning.
i purchased my first paid android app for the HTC desire phone i bought a couple of weeks ago: the vignette camera app. i loved the demo version so much, but it only took 0.3mp pics. the full version of the app capitalizes on the full 5mp, and features oodles of pre-fab settings: vignetting, gradient, tilt ‘n shift, film grain, colour filters, soft focus, etc. it has all sorts of aspect ratios and framing options. and the shots that i’m getting from it are so nice! for approx. $4, it was a great purchase. i highly recommend it to camera enthusiasts who use an android phone.
i’ve been really enjoying walking and getting a lot of fresh air lately. we walked for a number of hours today.
today was a day off, and we had a good time shopping for new boots, lunching at nokham thai, wandering carlingwood mall and the giant canadian tire, and taking pics of the early november sunset (it was only a little after 4p.m. when we took this shot).
this is a photo i snapped back on labour day, while visiting science north in sudbury. this is where i shot most of the footage for incarnation 1.03 and some of the footage for choke.
science north is a fun place; i definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the sudbury area.
just made up on the spot… the friday night dinner song:
roots and fruits and fungus
onions, pork, and veal
that’s what we’re going to eat
it’s a really good meal.
while attempting to be productive earlier this evening, working on my soon-to-be-released fourth track of the horizontals series, entitled dirty walls, i had a crazy revelation and sped up the song from 90bpm to 140bpm. it completely altered the mood of the tune from mournful ballad to urgent poptronica dance hit. it was just what i needed to lay down the proper vocal line for this track. i’m stoked to finish this track. i may cut a snippet of the old 90bpm version, and post a sample of it here, so you can hear the work-in-progress.
seriously though… does anyone care? feel free to comment! goodnight.
